I was born 1972; studied biology and a bit of public law at the Universities of Tübingen (Germany) and São Paulo (Brazil) until 1997.
I completed my PhD with Prof. H.-U. Schnitzler in 2000 at the University of Tübingen and was subsequently appointed as an
assistant professor ("Wissenschaftlicher Assistent") in the
Tübingen Department of Animal Physiology.
During this time I gathered research experience abroad through cooperation projects in Bulgaria,
Madagascar, Panama and Poland. In May 2006, I finished my habilitation and obtained the "venia legendi" in zoology.
In June 2006, I moved to the Seewiesen Max-Planck-Institute and established a Max Planck research group on sensory ecology.
The group started in November 2006. End of January 2007 we moved into our new facilities and began our research work.
